To the end - Orden Ogan - 2-LP

Teutonic Epic Melodic Power Metal - that would be the perfect and exact marketing description of the music these German hopefuls deliver. Their repertoire, though being traditional, comprises epic, subtle symphonic sounds, and is at the same time modern and fresh - as can be heard on their latest output "Easton hope": this Heavy Metal combo, active since 1996, is determined to join the ranks of the big names in their field. Their compositions brim with energy, anthemic parts and sometimes even progressive sounds - a mixture not only fans of Orden Ogan, but also the media seem to like quite a bit.

"Immortal's Abbath once said: the band you're playing in should be your favourite - I think he's totally right", Seeb, Orden Ogan's front man, says. "The music you compose should be exactly the music you'd like to listen to. Since there is no band like Orden Ogan, we knew pretty soon how to create our own kind of sound. People often compare us to Blind Guardian, but I think they just do it in lack of other similar-sounding combos - sure, there are some similar elements in our respective sounds, but Blind Guardian do their thing, and we do ours. Blind Guardian are much more Thrash than we are, and their newer stuff is sophisticated Art Rock / Prog - we like our modern Metal elements, riffs, and atmospheric arrangements dipping into Gothic. We just dig this saturnine, melancholic, yet classy and melodic approach. So far, I didn't find that in any other band."

"The Orden Ogan songwriting is an intuitive process", the guitarist and singer declares. "The ideas and arrangements are just flowing, and sometimes, even a complete songs develops from the single elements - you don't even need a guitar at hand. Songs which are created like that are mostly the best ones, it's a work in progress. We already have some new ideas. I think the element that sets the Orden Ogan sound apart from others is this openness to the untypical: synthie sounds, choirs, orchestra etc., and the courage to make use of them, plus a good feel for the occasional odd sound: if something doesn't fit in, throw it out ", he laughs.
